Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be seeking a career in academic obstetrics and gynecology research. Applicants must be near the completion of their residency in obstetrics and gynecology or in their subspecialty fellowship. Most applicants will be in the second year of their fellowship in reproductive endocrinology, maternal fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology or a related discipline such as genetics or immunology. For those individuals who do not plan to complete subspecialty training, application during the last year of residency is appropriate. The letter of intent is due by August 15, and October 1st is the deadline for submission of complete application with supporting materials to the RSDP Office. The letter of intent must precede the application. Individuals are selected in November or December to start the RSDP training in July of the following year. Any individual with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research is invited to work with their institution to develop an application for support. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are always encouraged to apply for the Reproductive Scientist Development Program.
